Sagar Sahni, a student of class X of the prestigious Inter-College, Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam, Muni-ki-Reti, Rishikesh, was one of the 92 students selected by the ICSE, New Delhi, to represent India in a Cultural Exchange Programme, Japan East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths (JENESYS), organised by the Japan International Co-operation Centre (JICE), the Ministry of Human Resource Development and Embassy of Japan. He was the only student to be selected from and representing this Uttarakhand State.

On reaching Tokyo on 19th May 2010, the students were taught some Japanese words and a speech on Japan was given by Professor Hizu Mori Yama of Wasuda University. The students were taken around the Edo Tokyo Museum, where they saw ancient pieces of Japanese History and Culture. Sagar Sahni visited Hikamani, Hikaminishi and Kaibar High School and interacted with the students. He visited Hyogo Emergency Management and Cleaning Centre, where he was made to experience Earthquake and Fireflow which were made artificially. He went to Hikamani Clean Centre where he was told about their waste management. He was also taken to Tanbaryu Fossil Excavation where he saw the fossil of the Dinosaur, Chiitan.

He came back to Rishikesh on 29th May 2010.
