Lord Patanjali
introduces a spiritual wisdom, which is known all over the world
as Yoga, an ancient tradition that came down to Him, through His
mother Yogini Gonika, from Lord Kapila, the first master of
Yoga. The path of Yoga leads an ardent practitioner to the
highest goal of Divine Solitude and Spiritual Consciousness
through cultivating divine virtues, viz. non-violence,
friendliness, compassion, truthfulness etc. and through the
practice of
Asanas and Pranayama.
In the present
CD,
Shri Siddhartha Krishna discusses some
historical facts about this ancient Saint, and at the same time
attempts to understand the spiritual significance of the
mythological representation of this Great Master
of Yoga.

Shri Siddhartha Krishna talks about the Divine Monosyllable “OM”
according to the Great Upanishad, The Mandukya Upanishad.
"OM, this imperishable letter is all
this. An exposition of this: All that existed, exists and will
exist, is verily OM. And what-ever transcends the three periods
of time is also verily OM. Indeed, all this is Brahman (The
Omnipresent, Omnipotent, Omniscient Supreme). This Self is
Brahman. The Self, such as It is, is possessed of four
quarters."

Shri Siddhartha Krishna talks about the Divine Monosyllable “OM”
according to the Great Upanishad, The Mandukya Upanishad.
"This one is the Lord of all; this
one is Omniscient; this one is the inner Director (of all); this
one is the Source (of all); indeed, this one is the place of
origin and dissolution of all beings. They consider the Fourth
to be that whose consciousness does not relate to objects
internal, neither to objects external, nor to both; who is not a
mass of consciousness, nor conscious, nor unconscious; which is
unseen, beyond empirical dealings, beyond grasp, uninferable,
unthinkable, indescribable; whose valid proof is the single idea
of the Self; in which all phenomena cease; and which is
unchanging, auspicious and non-dual. That is the Self, and That
is to be known."

Shri Siddhartha Krishna talks about the Divine Monosyllable “OM”
according to the Great Upanishad, The Mandukya Upanishad.
"This very Self, from the
standpoint of the syllable, is OM. From the standpoint of the
letters the quarters are the letters, and the letters are the
quarters : a, u, m.
Vaishvanara, whose sphere is the waking state, is the first
letter a, because of pervasiveness or being the first. He who
knows thus, does verily attain all desirable things, and becomes
the foremost.
Taijasa, whose sphere is the dream state, is the second letter
u, because of excellence and intermediateness. How who knows
thus increases the current of knowledge and becomes equal. None
is born in his lineage who is not a knower of Brahman (the
Supreme).
Prajna, whose sphere is the sleep state, is the third letter m,
because of measuring or absorption. Anyone who knows thus
measures all this, and becomes the place of absorption.
Turiya (fourth) is the partless OM – beyond empirical dealings,
the culmination of phenomenal existence, the auspicious, and the
non-dual. Indeed, Om is thus the Self. He who knows thus enters
the Self through his self."

The Shrimad Bhagavad-Gita (The Song of the Glorious Divine) is
one of the most authentic texts on Yoga that embraces the entire
humanity like a mother for its spiritual nourishment and divine
upliftment and helps us to transcend all boundaries and
limitations that are imposed upon us by our mind. Its clear,
precise and universal message is highly relevant even in modern
times. Its path leads to the heavenly realm of selfless service,
divine love and universal consciousness. In three words its
essence is Serve, Love and Realize.

"Here, indeed, the creation is
conquered by them, whose heart is established in equanimity;
because the Supreme is faultless and equal, hence they abide in
the Supreme."
Human success is to win the world with a heart enlightened
by the radiance of the underlying unity and integrity within
this plurality that is dispersed all around us. This integrity
transcends all defilements of ignorance. A heart established in
such equanimity can truly demolish and cross all walls that are
otherwise constantly projected by it on the society. Such a
heart truly reaches out to all beyond any social, cultural,
national or ideological limitation. This is the goal of
spirituality.

Yoga Sutras of Patanjali - Samadhi Pada (1.1)
“Now instruction on Yoga is to be commenced.” says Sage
Patanjali. This was the first lesson that introduced an aspirant
to the path of Yoga in ancient times. Introducing a modern Yoga
student to this first lesson Siddhartha Krishna explains Yoga’s
place amongst other Indian philosophies such as Vedanta, Sankhya
etc. and its connection to the Vedas, the origin of every idea
that was conceived in India.

Yoga Sutras of Patanjali - Samadhi Pada (1.2)
Sage Patanjali describes Yoga by a unique definition, “Yoga is
to restrict the mind’s modifications.” This implies that Yoga is
to leave the mind behind and step forward into the realm of the
Self that is unperturbed by the qualities of the mind. But, what
is the mind? What are its four faculties? What are its three
qualities? What is a modification? A complete understanding of
Yoga demands an answer to these questions. In this CD Siddhartha
Krishna explores the answers to some of these and other similar
questions.

Yoga Sutras of Patanjali - Samadhi Pada (1.3)
Sage Patanjali describes the state of a Soul when in Yoga or
Divine Union, "Then (when in Union) the Soul rests in its
essential nature." (Yoga Sutra 1.3) What does he mean by the
Soul? Is it an entity that has been travelling in this Universe
since the moment of creation and was even travelling in the
previous faces of creation, while briefly resting in the
intervals between each eon of creation? What is its essential
nature? Will it travel till eternity or will there be a time
when it will be in eternal rest and peace? This talk is an
effort to find answers to these and some other similar
questions.
