Yoga is a panacea for
good health. Keeping this adage in mind a Summer Yoga Camp was
organised in the school premises from 21st May to 26th May, 2010.
The Camp was conducted by the School Teacher Mrs. Anuradha
Bhargava, a Yoga expert. It was well attended by a large number of
students from classes I to VIII. For six days the students were
trained in Pranayama and in different Asanas like Surya Namaskar,
Gaumukhasan, Bhujangasan, Shashankasan, Tulasan etc. which they
eventually performed with ease.
On the final day, a demonstration was
given by the students for the guests and the teachers present. The
Chief Guest of this function was Swami Narasimhuluji, Trustee of
Swami Omkarananda Saraswati Charitable Trust. The function was
presided over by Usha Mataji. Mr. Mahaveer Singh Negi, President,
School Managing Committee, Principal Col. (Retd.) D.L. Sachdeva,
Mrs. Mridula Chaturvedi, Vice-Principal, Dr. Quaylee Chakravorty,
Coordinator, were also present on the occasion to encourage the
budding Yoga experts.
The students who got special mention for
their excellent performance were Kanchan Bisht, Vidisha Chauhan,
Niharika Rawat, Trishika Kandari, Yashwani Singh, Niharika
Bijalwan and Ananya Pant. All the students who had participated in
the camp were awarded Certificates by the Chief Guest.
In his speech Shri Swami Narasimhuluji
stressed on 'OM', whose knowledge is important and makes our life
disciplined. He further said that Yoga purifies the body and the
soul.
